COVID-19: Equitable Vaccine Distribution in Rural Missouri
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the lives of every Missourian, but the end of the pandemic may be in sight with a number of new vaccines getting approval. Right now, the state is vaccinating people as quickly as it can, however, vaccine hesitancy threatens to derail efforts to end the pandemic. Suburban Missouri is outpacing rural and urban Missouri in COVID-19 vaccine uptake. Our January roundtable discussion focused on vaccination efforts in urban Missouri and Black and brown communities. This month, we’re talking about the cultural and political divides that may keep rural communities from critical interventions that could help to end the pandemic.
This live roundtable discussion will be live on YouTube and Facebook for anyone to view on Friday, April 30th at 3 pm CT. We’re also hosting a virtual afterparty following the round table event on Zoom on Friday, April 30th at 4 pm CT. The afterparty is a great opportunity to meet the discussion participants and connect with scientists and researchers from all over Missouri. We can’t wait to see everyone there!
