Meet our Speakers
Teng Teeh Lim, Ph.D. – Dr. Lim has been focusing on the assessment of dust, odor, and gas emissions of agriculture facilities, and monitoring and performance of ventilation systems. He developed a web-based, interactive setback guideline for pork production facilities, and is developing emission models for commercial swine barns based on part of the National Air Emission Monitoring Study dataset. Dr. Lim has scientifically characterized emissions from modern agricultural facilities and the efficiency of mitigation technologies based on EPA-approved quality assurance project plans. His research and extension programs focus on developing and assessing practical livestock manure management and air quality control. Dr. Lim is an active member of the University of Missouri Dairy and Swine Focus Teams, who develop extension materials, interact with producers, cooperate with businesses, and conduct various research programs appropriate to livestock industry needs. His current research projects focus on biofiltration and anaerobic digestion.
James Kaufman – James Kaufman, has 20 years of experience researching the economics and impact of innovative technologies that are applied to food and agriculture. These technologies have ranged from biotech crops to biofuels, to food processing. James’ interest in biogas involves the economic and policy issues surrounding biogas production and marketing. Specifically, how those factors have -and will continue- to shape its adoption, especially in Missouri.
Brandon Butler – Brandon Butler serves as Director of Communications for Roeslein Alternative Energy (RAE). He handles public relations, marketing, and government affairs. Previously, Butler served as the Executive Director of the Conservation Federation of Missouri, the state’s largest conservation non-profit. Butler is currently on the board of directors of the Missouri Energy Initiative. He holds a B.S. from Purdue University, M.A from Gonzaga University, and an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Missouri, where he has served as class president.
