Rossana Zetina-Beale

Board Secretary

 

Rossana Zetina-Beale is a science and technology research and development (R&D) program evaluator at RTI International, an independent, nonprofit research institute based in North Carolina. She has 18 years of experience implementing U.S. government–funded programs domestically and internationally. In her current role, she conducts impact assessments of R&D initiatives for government agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and other organizations and institutions like the National Academies of Sciences, the ALS Association, and the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Before moving to Missouri in 2020, she was Deputy Chief of Party of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development program in the Philippines. In this role, she was advisor to the Philippine Department of Science and Technology in developing evaluation systems for government-funded research. She also worked with more than 100 Philippine universities to assess their research readiness toward improved innovation capacity.

Prior to RTI, Rossana was a manager and later a board member of El Centro Hispano, the largest grassroots organization serving the Latinx population in North Carolina. Through policy analysis, advocacy, and coalition building Rossana supported El Centro Hispano in connecting the Latinx community to government agencies and government representatives at the local and state levels.

Rossana has a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a master’s degree in policy from Duke University. She currently lives in Columbia, Missouri.
