After a competitive search, MOST Policy Initiative has hired Robert Boone as the permanent Executive Director. MOST Policy Initiative is a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote the long-term health, sustainability, and economic growth for people and communities of Missouri by connecting science and policy. Boone will lead the organization’s flagship program, the Missouri Science & Technology (MOST) Policy Fellows program.
Robert has been a public servant for over 40 years. His background includes 5 years as the Assistant Director of Administration for the City of Fulton, Mo. Robert also served as the Legislative Coordinator for the Missouri Public Service Commission. Robert’s background includes a working knowledge of topical state and federal public utility regulatory issues, specifically those that involve legislative matters. Robert exercises excellent judgment in handling legislative activities. This crucial ability has been allowed to develop during his years of service in state government.
Robert is a member of the Advisory Board for the Harry S. Truman School of Public Policy at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Robert is a 1978 graduate of Hannibal High School. Robert received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Drury University in 1982 and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997. The search for the executive director was led by MOST’s board president, Kellyann Jones-Jamtgaard with assistance from Eleve Talent. “We are so pleased to have Robert join MOST as our Executive Director. As a native Missourian and dedicated public servant, he embodies the spirit of MOST—providing non-partisan information to legislators to improve quality of life in the state. He will be able to mentor our science policy fellows in job opportunities at the state and local level using his own career as an example. The future of MOST is in very capable hands with Robert,” said Jones-Jamtgaard on behalf of the MOST Executive Committee.
