St. Louis DataFest aims to "unite professional across diverse sectors, including universities, government, businesses, and nonprofits, who share a passion for using data to drive positive social change." The conference brings these actors together to showcase the ways data can be used to address the challenges facing Missouri and the world.
The MOST team, composed of Legislative Policy Fellows Drs. Rieka Yu and Isabel Warner, presented on "Data Driven Policy Research." They described how they communicate about science and data to legislators, and highlighted the need and pathways for scientists to engage in policy.
After their presentation, Drs. Yu and Warner connected with researchers across different fields, and were met with enthusiasm for connecting with policymakers and engaging with the Fellowship in the future.
